Robert Cardello is a graduate of Tulane University with a Master's degree in Architecture. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, he founded Cardello Architects in 1999, where he has since designed award-winning commercial and high-end residential properties across New England and beyond.

Rather than seeing traditional principles as boundaries, Bob views them as tools for innovative expression. He has an uncompromising eye for timeless design, and his thoughtful attention to function and space allows his homes to evolve with the families who reside within them. Bob is passionate about bringing people together, and his designs reflect this, with even the grandest spaces radiating warmth and intimacy.

As the principal of Cardello Architects, Bob takes pride in combining a strong creative spirit with an efficient, client-centric process. His small boutique firm fosters creativity and collaboration with an open-studio environment. Bob believes in exemplary customer service with a personal touch, and his hand sketches remain an integral part of his creative process.

Bob has been recognized as one of the top coastal architects in the country, with architecture licenses in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Florida, and Rhode Island. He resides in Connecticut with his wife, Judi, and their two children. When he's not designing homes, Bob enjoys boating, fishing, friendly competition with his bowling league, and award-winning barbecue creations.

Dave has been an integral part of the Cardello Architects team since 2004, earning numerous awards and recognition in leading regional and national publications. He holds an associate degree in engineering and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA.

After college, he worked in construction in Nantucket, giving him a strong technical background and an unwavering attention to design, Dave has a thorough understanding of construction detailing, ensuring that no detail escapes his notice during onsite construction reviews. His passion for architecture, regardless of style, is only matched by his love for cars. Over the years, he has owned and restored many muscle cars - in particular 60's and 70's Buicks.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dave is a registered architect in Connecticut, Florida, and Rhode Island, a member of the American Institute of Architects Connecticut and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), and remains actively involved in local trade events.

Dave and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Connecticut. In his free time, Dave enjoys being on the water, a passion he developed at a young age.

Grandson of a developer and son of an architectural draftsman, it was obvious to Rui that architecture was in his future. Born and raised in Portugal, Rui earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in architecture in one of the top-rated universities in Lisbon. Eager to explore different cities, not only for their history but for their broad and diverse architectural styles, Rui studied abroad in San Sebastian, Spain, and traveled to different European cities during his last year of study, broadening his outlook on details and providing a worldly perspective.

Upon completing his Master's, Rui ventured to New York City, where he completed his internship and began working on high-end residential projects and collaborating with award-winning interior designers and architects. He brings over 10 years of professional experience in high-end architecture, focusing on residential and interior design.

His English, Portuguese, and Spanish skills allow him to help clients from all over the world. Rui takes pride in making a client’s ideas and dreams a reality by lending a creative lens and carefully crafting a beautiful but functional design. He joined the Cardello Architects team in the fall of 2020, bringing with him his diverse European architectural knowledge and experience from highly recognized firms in New York City and Connecticut.

Rui lives with his wife and two daughters and enjoys playing guitar, soccer and being outdoors.

Adrienne always found herself inspired by the dense skyline and diverse cityscape that is Manhattan. Growing up so close to The City resulted in her visiting St. Patrick’s Cathedral, blossoming a passion for architecture and design.

Her passion continued onto Syracuse University, where she graduated with her B.S in Architecture in 2016. Adrienne has since become a multifaceted designer, navigating both architecture and interiors. She has honed her skills in various design sectors, ranging from places of worship, municipal buildings, and high-end single-family homes. Her architectural and interior design skills, with a focus on classical design drawn from her St. Patrick’s Cathedral visit, are a welcome addition to the Cardello Team.

Whether crafting liturgical furniture, or working on timeless homes, her dedication to excellence in design is clear.

Garrett joined Cardello Architects in 2023 and quickly became a valuable member of the design team. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Temple University, where he developed his passion for thoughtful, purposeful design. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at a respected residential architecture practice in New Jersey, deepening his appreciation for beautifully crafted homes and the transformative potential of reimagined spaces.

Garrett later earned his Master of Architecture from Lawrence Technological University, further strengthening his technical expertise and project management abilities. In addition to his design skills, he is known for his natural ability to connect with clients; listening closely, communicating clearly, and collaborating with ease to ensure each project reflects their vision.

Outside of work, you can often find Garrett playing golf or exploring Martha’s Vineyard with his wife.

Jieun Bae is an Architectural Designer specializing in housing design, with experience spanning luxury single-family residences to mixed-use developments. Her passion for architecture began early, sparked by a love of building and a curiosity for how thoughtful design shapes the way people live.

Jieun earned her degree in Architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and has since focused her career on residential and housing-focused teams. She is a LEED AP certified designer with a strong commitment to sustainability, integrating environmentally responsible strategies and building-performance principles into her work while advocating for greener approaches to development.

Beyond the office, Jieun enjoys camping and hiking with her family and dog, often drawing creative inspiration from the natural landscapes she explores. She also has a passion for street photography, capturing the character and detail of the built environment through her lens.

Alisa is an Architectural Designer with a diverse background shaped by international roots and a lifelong passion for the building design. Born in Sevastopol, Ukraine, she moved to the United States at a young age, carrying with her an early admiration for Europe’s historic architecture. Frequent travels to major U.S. cities such as Boston and Chicago further fueled her desire to pursue architecture as a career.

She earned her B.S. in Architecture with a minor in Civil Engineering from the University of Hartford, where she strengthened her design foundation and technical understanding of building systems. Prior to joining our team, Alisa gained valuable experience working in residential architecture in Connecticut as well as commercial and hospitality projects in New York City.

Outside the studio, Alisa finds inspiration in her love for plants, art, and music - even going so far as to rehabilitate a dying plant in the office. She is an avid cat enthusiast and enjoys drumming as a creative outlet.

Kim brings her passion for home design to life at Cardello Architects. After graduating with a B.S. in Architecture from Roger Williams University and gaining valuable experience in multi-family housing design, she joined Cardello in late 2023 to pursue her dream of crafting beautiful and functional living spaces. Her meticulous attention to detail and collaborative spirit seamlessly integrate with the Cardello team.

While Kim is currently pursuing her Master's degree at Lawrence Technological University to become a licensed architect, she finds time to nurture her creative side through book club discussions, culinary explorations, and yoga practice.

Liam brings a lifelong passion for residential architecture to Cardello Architects, with a focus on coastal and mountain homes. Raised in Fairfield, Connecticut, he began drawing floor plans at a young age, developing an early appreciation for architecture that balances classical influence with modern design.

He earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design with an emphasis in Architecture from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he developed strong expertise in Revit, 3D modeling, and visualization. His senior studio work explored Mountain Modern design and was selected by a professional jury for public display at a Colorado ski resort.

Prior to joining Cardello Architects, Liam worked at Poss Architecture in Aspen, contributing to the design and documentation of luxury residences and boutique commercial projects in premier mountain communities throughout the western United States. At Cardello, he serves as a key resource for Revit-based design and documentation, supporting the studio’s modern and transitional residential work.

Julian is the Marketing Manager at Cardello Architects, overseeing the firm’s brand and day-to-day marketing efforts. He manages everything under the marketing umbrella, from social media and the website to proposals, photography, and digital footprint, helping keep the firm’s story clear and consistent.

In the office, Julian is a reliable all-rounder and de facto brand ambassador, jumping in wherever needed to support the team and client experience. Outside of work, he enjoys bowling, exploring local waterways by kayak or canoe, and video games.

Penny (left) joined the firm as a morale intern. With the help of our existing Chief Morale Officer, Wally (or Walter), Penny has quickly become an indispensable asset to the studio's morale, and now serves as an equal to her previous mentor.  

Their friendly presence is a welcomed addition to the studio and provides a pleasant change of pace on hectic days.  As our furry ambassadors, they make everyone feel welcome (with the exception of the mailman).  Wally and Penny remind us of the importance of taking a moment to enjoy the simple things in life.  Both of these delightful dogs are owned by our founder, Bob Cardello.
